The Iraq emergency crisis is a crisis where more than three million Iraqis become and live as refugees due to internal displacement in their country. The crisis mainly occurs in Iraq, but it also takes place around other countries. This crisis is an example of a humanitarian crisis. Future Learn defines a humanitarian crisis as, “an event or series of events that represents a critical threat to the health, safety, security, or wellbeing of a community or other large group of people, usually over a wide area.” The Iraq Emergency exists because of US-led invasions and destruction of Iraq cities such as Falluja. We could donate to UNHCR, an organization that provides protection and aid to the Iraq refugees, and we could also donate things such as mattresses in order to help them.
