Alzheimers and dementia are afflictions that impact over 50 million people world-wide. These degenerative diseases directly impact the brain's cognitive function, which in turn leads to mental, emotional, and intellectual instability and/or decline. The result is that patients often become randomly angry or frustrated by their surroundings or loved ones, they forget who they are and the important people in their lives, and many even have complete changes in their personalities which significantly inhibits their ability to form connections and relationships with others. Having to watch a loved one or a friend suffer through the throes of Alzheimers or dementia is an incredibly traumatizing experience for hundreds of millions of people across the world, and this is a topic which is desperately in need of solutions.
